A

if a behaviour that was previously reinforced stops being reinforced, that behavior will weaken or decrease

  • works with behaviour previously maintained with positive reinforcement
  • maintained by negative reinforcement
  • not the same as forgetting a behaviour

A

A

Schedule of reinforcement

A

continuous schedule leads to faster decrease in behaviour (lower resistance to extinction)
- intermittent schedule leads to slower decrease in behaviour
