Chapter 47 Nitrogen Generation System Flashcards
Where are the oxygen monitoring sensors?
After the ASM
(Air separation module)
Where is the BITE unit for the NGS system located?
The RH air conditioning bay
What does the blue light indicated?
Degraded
Where is the ozone converter located?
In the left hand air conditioning pack bay.
What is NEADS and what does it do?
Nitrogen Enriched Air Distribution System. Fills the centre tank with nitrogen.
Where is nitrogen supplied?
The centre tank
What does the NGS use for cooling?
Ram air
What does the NGS pressure sensor do?
It monitors the bleed air pressure, and controls the NGS shutoff valve if the pressure is greater then 67 psig
How is the NGS shutoff valve locked out?
Manually
How is the NGS filter monitored for condition?
By a differential pressure switch
Is the data sent from the temperature sensor a primary parameter for NGS control?
Yes
As a backup, the thermal switch will provide an input for?
Overtemperature condition
The ASM will produce nitrogen separating the oxygen from
The air
When is the NGS operating?
Climb, cruise and descent
What does the Cross-vent check valve do?
The CVCV prevents ambient air from going into the centre tank from the right surge tank
