Decreases the vibrations between inner and outer cylinders during high speed taxi and heavy break use.
What is the function of the scraper ring?
It protects the inner strut from FOD
How many gear down-lock sensors are there?
Two per landing gear
What happens when you select AIR MODE on sys 1 on ground?
The PSEU light will illuminate, along with the red light on PSEU
When will the PSEU light illuminate?
When the aircraft is on the ground for more than 30 seconds and throttle levers are less than 53 degrees.
How do you test the LGTV (landing gear transfer valve)
Via the bite test on the PSEU
When must you replace the cartridge on the tail skid?
When the green band is no longer in view.
Where do the nose wheel steering inputs come from?
The tiller and rudder pedals.
What is the maximum turning capability when using rudder pedals?
7 degrees
Where are the 4 thermal fuse plugs located?
On the wheels
What happens when the parking break shutoff valve closes?
It closes the return lines from the normal anti-skid valves.
What would happen is the #1 wheel was to skid during alternate (ALTN) antiskid?
1 and #2 will be released.
The work independently in normal config.
What is the purpose of lock wheel protection?
It compares the wheel speed between the two inboard or two outboard wheels, and release brake pressure to the slower wheel if the differential is greater than 30%
What hydraulic system is used for autobrake?
System B only.
What is the purpose of the autobrake shuttle valve?
Selects the highest pressure source to send to the brakes.
If normal anti-skid fails, will autobake arm?
NO
What would indicate a disagreement between the parking brake valve and the switch?
Anti-skid inop and no parking brake light
What indication will you have when autobrake applies brake pressure and arming conditions are lost?
You will recieve an AUTOBRAKE DISSARM light and the autobrake switch will remain in the selected position.
Can a PSEU no dispatch fault be reset?
No
Landing gear selected down. What indicates that it is moving?
3 red lights
What will happen if the landing gear is not down and locked when flaps greater than 15 degrees is selected?
A non-resetable continious landing warning horn alarms.
