Chapter 28 Fuel Flashcards
Where are the inclinometers located?
L/H main wheel well on the keel beam STA727
With no power, what will be the indication on the fuel temperature scale?
It will drop off the scale.
Are the crossfeed and spar valve actuators interchangeable?
Yes.
Where is the fuel shutoff valve battery located?
Behind the P6 CB panel.
How do you de-fuel the aircraft?
Turn the de-fuel valve to the open position.
Can you close the access door to the defuel valve if the valve is in the open position?
No
When will you receive a centre tank low pressure indication?
When pressure drops below 18psi.
When will you receive a wing tank low pressure indication?
When pressure drops below 4psi.
What time delay is related to the left hand centre tank boost pump?
There is a 15 second time relay.
After 15 seconds of LOW PX, the relay is deenergised and shuts off the pump.
What is an indication of an overfill?
The indicator on the P15 is blinking.
When does the refuel shutoff valve go to the open position?
The valve opens when it is put under pressure by incoming fuel or when the switch is put to the open position.
How does the centre tanks fuel scavenge system work?
It creates suction through motive flow from the FWD L/H booster pump.
The water and fuel that comes out
of the water scavenge ejector pump goes to the L/H and R/H centre tank and main tank aft boost pump inlets.
Will the engine be starved of fuel if you turn off all the main tank fuel pumps?
No, the bypass valve will open and both engines will be supplied fuel by their respective main tanks through suction or gravity.
This is only applicable to both main tanks.
What will cause the pressure relief valve to open?
Where there is too much positive or negative pressure in the fuel tanks, the pressure relief valve will open.
It must be manually closed before the next flight.
What is the purpose of the pump outlet pressure switch?
It verifies the pump is operational and that there is fuel flowing through it.
