stress that evokes negative feelings and adverse reactions
3 stages of stress adaption
1: Alarm= increased alertness and stim cardio and vascular responses, norepinephrine causes vasoconstriction, HR and RR increase and circulation decrease, fight or flight response; 2:Resistance Stage= body attempt to stave off effects of stress through hormone secretion, decrease HR and pupil size; 3:Exhaustion Stage, if stress doesn’t subside, exhaustion ensues
Allostatis
state of balance that changes according to exposure to stressors
Allostatic load
wear and tear on body systems caused by stress reactions
Allostatic overload
when stress exceeds body ability to adapt
What stage of sleep, is hardest to wake someone up?
3 or 4= deep sleep
Pressure injury stage 1
redness and irritatiom

loss of skin in epidermal and dermal layers
