How to decide whether to perform legal interpreting
A
- Identify if the assignment is, or could be, legal interpreting
- When in doubt, consider the appointment legal interpreting
- If it is (or could be) legal interpreting, assess your competence to perform it
- If your competence is in doubt, try to decline or withdraw
- If it is not feasible to withdraw, disclose your limitations
- If you stay, conduct yourself as a legal interpreter
