pharmacodynamic: ease of titration, therapeutic index (time period when working the most-deals with dosing)

safety: profile varies by population (i.e.teratogens-effecting embryos, drug allergies etc.), FDA advisories
cost: to patient, cost to health system
patient: pmhx, current drug tx, age, pregnancy/breast feeding, co-morbidities
provider: ease of prescribing/monitoring, formularies
