What is a standard of conduct for professional and personal behavior based on shared values?

What are the guidelines to help you model ethical behavior?
*Know the rules (you should have a good working knowledge of local policies governing ethical behavior)
*Walk the talk (you must demonstrate the policy in your daily actions)
*Teach the way (coaching your employees on expected behavior)
*Hold the line (you are responsible for recognizing what may be unethical actions and dealing with them accordingly)

What does accountability consist of?
*Being accountable to supervisor, the public government leaders, community, even yourself.
What do Awareness consist of?
*Being aware of ethical standards.
What does Authenticity consist of?
*Being genuine, willing to do the right thing even when no one is watching.
A guide to ethical decision making includes?
*The law (is it legal?)
*Policy (is it violating a policy?)
*Integrity (is it breaking my word, trust, promise, or my values?)
*Appearances (is there conflict of interest?)
*Clear Thinking (is emotion or bias clouding my judgement?)
*Perspective (when looking back will I be proud of my conduct?)

*Role model test: (what would my mentor think or do in that situation?)
*Patent or child in your shoulder test: (what wound I say to my child or my parents about the action I’m about to take?)
