Name the special goats in Peter’s herd with a distinguishing feature for each.
Big Turk has strong horns and is always trying to butt the others. Finch is a frisky kid with sharp horns. Snowflake is a little, white, orphaned goat.
How does Heidi help save Finch?
Heidi lures Finch from the ravine’s edge with grass to eat.
Heidi believes she saw a fire on the mountain. Describe what she saw. How does Grandfather explain the sight?
The setting sun spread a glow over everything, turning the mountains and trees different colors. Grandfather says the sun was saying good night to the mountains in a way that they would not forget him during the night.
“You must have a wash first, or the sun will laugh to see you look so black.”
Grandfather to Heidi
“They wanted to stay in the sun and didn’t like being shut up in your apron.”
Grandfather about the meadow flowers
“You can imagine he’s saying, ‘If only you would all mind your own business and climb up tot he mountain tops as i do, you’d be a lot better off.’”
Grandfather about the hawk.
