How did the highways impact American?

A

It made traveling faster. Being able to get into major city. Highways also encouraged the movement of economic activities manufacturing in particular out of cities and into suburban and rural areas where land was cheap. This enabled families to live in bigger homes with bigger lots, and mad it easier for families to move into homes. It transformed the landscape of retailing.

BUS Boycott: the Supreme Court ruled that segregation in public transportation was unconstitutional

-Senator McCarthy attacked the armed forces went to a congressional hearing where the public saw him as a villain/buffoon and condemned him for conduct unbecoming a senator 3 yrs later w/little public support left, he died from alcoholism
