- includes body language (BL is important)

The third component of communication
- must listen, observe and attend
- the decoder: relate the message perceived to the receivers Knowledge and experience and to sort out meaning.
Receiver
Levels of Communication:
Fourth component. Message that the receiver returns to the sender
- allows sender to know the correct message is received
