General Route of Controlling Bleeding
Direct pressure and pressure dressing (wrap)
If no work, then tourniquet proximal to the wound.
If the wound in a place where tourniquet no useful = junctional tourniquet or hemostatic dressings.
After everything, stabalize extremity with splint.
Ecchymosis
A buildup of blood beneath the skin that produces a characteristic blue or black discoloration as the result of an injury.
Open-book pelvic fracture
Pelvis is displaced laterally and posteriorly.
Apply pelvic binder (splint).
Signs of serious internal bleeding
Hematemesi: blood vomit
Melena: black shit
Hemoptysis: blood cough
Distended abdomen
Brocken Ribs
Signs of Hypovolemic shock
Number 1: Change in mental status (anxiety, restlessness, combat)
Number 2: Skin color change
Late Stage: tachycardia, weakness, thirst, nausea + emesis, dull eyes, tachypnea, 2 second or longer capillary refill, weak pulse, decreasing blood pressure, altered level of consciousness
