CBC, ESR, Rheumatoid profiles, CRP;renal and liver function tests; glucose and HbA1C; vitamin B12 and folate (neuropathy with macrocytosis); TFTs (hypothyroid neuropathy); and serum protein electrophoresis and urine protein electrophoresis (dysproteinemias, monoclonal gammopathy, lymphoma, amyloidosis).
Second line: Urine porphobilinogen (acute intermittent porphyria); urine heavy metals; Hep B antigen, Abs, CT scan, CSF protein
