database that keeps record of user and passwords. built into all computers.
super user/admin/root account
super/admin accounts supersedes all other users on a computer/system. Built into all computers.
Active Directory
Stores domain usernames and passwords
SSO stands for what?
Single Sign-On which enables users to log in using their domain accounts anywhere on the network.
Home editions
the edition of windows for small offices, that can’t connect to window domains. Don’t have a lot of CPU power.
Workstation editions
can connect to windows domains. Workstation is the pro version of home edition, core absolute version of windows.
Enterprise editions
for large organizations or companies. Allows admins to take over hundreds or thousand computers.

7, 8, 8.1, 10
Windows 7
Last version to have windows media center. Was the dominant version of windows till 10.
Windows 8
OS for tablets and smart phones. No start button. First version to introduce the Microsoft store, charms bar, and OneDrive
