netstat command
Shows statics on all the connections for your computer.
Port 445 is what?
Is Windows folder sharing port.

Can be used as an alternative to netstat.
NetBIOS/NetBEUI is what?
Original methodology by which Microsoft used to share.
NetBT is what?
NetBIOS over TCP/IP. Got rid of NetBEUI.
CIFS stands for what?
Common Internet File System(CIFS).
SMB stands for what?
Server Message Block(SMB). Is the common way Windows file and folder sharing is handled over TCP/IP.
Domain Controller
A special computer used to install windows server on it.
Organization Units
a container to help organize groups and users.
Domain admin’s.
Have the power to add any computer to the domain.
Forest is what?
An Active Directory with multiple named groups and domains.
Samba is what?
Samba is what Linux and Mac use to connect to windows networks.
Net View command
Shows the systems and the shares in a workgroup or domain.
Types of firewalls
Stateless firewalls and Stateful Firewalls.
Stateful firewalls
Capable of monitoring and detecting states of all traffic on a network to track and defend based on traffic patterns and flow.
Stateful firewalls
Firewalls that block based on actions taking place at that moment
Stateless firewalls
Firewalls that block based on actions taking place at that moment.
DMZ stands for what?
Demilitarized Zone.
Windows Defender Firewall
Is a host-based firewall that comes with windows. That has three settings, Domain, Public, and Private.
Host Firewalls
Host firewalls protect systems using host features such as file names or process IDs
Port Forwarding
When a NAT router opens incoming traffic on a certain port access to a single system on the internal network. Often use nonstandard port numbers for security reasons
Dynamic DNS
We use Dynamic DNS to give DNS names to port forwarded devices.
