Emphysema
A condition in which the lung’s alveoli become distended. (swell). Decrease in exposure
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
A group of disorders that cause chronic airway obstruction. Decrease in exposure
Pleurisy
An inflammation of the pleura
Pleural Effusion
Excess fluid in the pleura cavity. Increase in exposure
Hemothorax
A pleural effusion containing blood
Pneumothorax
Free air trapped in the pleura space and compresses the lung tissue. Both inspiration and expiration PA Chest.
Atelectasis
collapsed lung. Increase in exposure
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
The heart is unable to propel blood at a sufficient rate and volume. Increase in exposer
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
A plaque accumulation in the coronary arteries
Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA)
Stroke (Blood supply to brain)
3 causes- hemorrhage, infarction, enbolism
Aneurysm
a localized ballooning or out-pouching of a vessel wall.
Pneumonia
An inflammation of the lungs resulting in accumulation of fluid. Increase in exposure
Dyspnea
shortness of breath
Hemoptysis
Coughing up blood
