How does Addison’s disease occur?
When the adrenal glands do not produce enough of the hormones cortisol or aldosterone.
What is Conn’s Syndrome?
A disorder of the adrenal glands due to excessive production of aldosterone.
How does Cushing’s Syndrome is caused?
By prolonged exposure to high levels of cortisol.
How is Diabetes Insipidus caused?
By insufficient production of antidiuretic hormone or by the inability of the kidneys to response to the antidiuretic hormone.
What are Electrolytes?
Mineral substances, such as sodium, potassium that are found in blood.
What is Epinephrine?
A norepinephrine, stimulates the sympathetic nervous system.
Epinephrine is also known as?
Adrenaline.
What is Estrogen?
The female hormone that is important in the development and maintenance of the female secondary sex characteristics and in regulation of the menstrual cycle.
What is Gestational Diabetes Mellitus?
The form of diabetes that occurs during some pregnancies.
What is Glucagon?
The hormone that increases the amount of glucose by stimulating the liver to convert glycogen into glucose for release into the bloodstream.
What is Glucose?
The basic form of energy used by the body.

Blood sugar.
What is Glycogen?
The form in which the liver stores the excess glucose.
What is Grave’s Disease?
An autoimmune disorder that is a form of hyperthyroidism. Characterized by goiter, exophthalmos or both.
What is Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis?
An autoimmune disorder in which the immune system mistakenly attacks thyroid tissue.
