What is a memo?
- a brief internal letter with no opening/closing
- appears in block format (no indent) & headings can be used to separate points

What does a memo’s conclusion include?
- restates purpose & scope
- briefly restates main idea(s)
- contact info provided

What does a discussion include for an email?

- can be direct or indirect format
What does a conclusion include for an email?
- restates purpose & scope
- briefly restates main idea(s)
- formal complimentary close
What is direct format?
- used for good news letter
- present info at beginning of letter
What is indirect format?
- used for a bad news letter
- sandwich method: something positive, then bad news, then something neutral/positive - cushions the blow
What can social media be used for in a business?
- announcing a product/service and sales/promotions
- generate feedback
- build a fanbase for market research
- events
- business communication
What are the marketing rules on social media?
- keep it brief
- keep it relevant
- spelling/grammar rules apply
