Indications
A
Clinical or ECG evidence suggestive of myocardial infarction or ischaemia.

Actions?
A
Anti-platelet action which reduces clot formation.

Contraindications?
A
Known aspirin allergy or sensitivity. Children under 16. Active gastrointestinal bleed. Haemophilia or other known clotting disorders. Severe hepatic disease.

Cautions?
A
Asthma. Pregnancy. Kidney or liver failure. Gastric or duodenal ulcer. Current treatment with anticoagulants

Side effects?
A
Gastric bleeding.
Wheezing in some asthmatics.

Oral - chewed or dissolved in water.
