When can you make a right turn on a red light?
unless a sign tells you not to, you may make a right turn facing a red light (as long as you wait until the way is clear)
When can you make a left turn on a red light?
you may turn left from a one-way road to a one-way road on a red light
What is the center lane (on the image) used for?
this center lane is used as a two-way left-turn lane. remember that vehicles from the opposite direction also use this lane to turn.
what should you do if you are in a roundabout when an emergency vehicle approaches?
exit at your intended exit and proceed beyond the traffic island before pulling over.
how would you back up (reverse) to the right?
while holding the steering wheel, put the gear selector in reverse and turn sideway/your body and head to the right and look back over your right shoulder.
what are 2 ways of turning?
u-turn and three-point turn
how would you make a u-turn?
- never make a u-turn unless you can see at least 150m in both directions
- pull over to the right side of the road
- stop
- signal a left turn
- when traffic is clear in both directions, turn sharply into the opposite lane
how would you make a three-point turn?
- signal for a left turn
- when the way is clear in both directions, turn sharply left towards the curb on the far side of the road
- stop
- shift vehicle into reverse
- signal a left turn
- when the way is clear, turn sharply to the right while backing up to the other side of the road
- stop
- shift to forward gear
- when the way is clear, drive forward
