A
- visibility - about seeing and being seen. seeing - checking mirrors, eyes on road ; being seen - use signal lights
- space - leave a cushion of space ahead. behind, on both sides
- communicate - with other road users - make eye contact, horn, signal lights

What you should do while getting ready to drive?
A
- be physically and mentally alert
- know your vehicle - make sure you know where all the controls and instruments are and what they do.
- get into position - sit properly, sit high enough to see over the steering wheel and see the ground 4m in front of the vehicle
- keep a clear view - on your windows
- FIND YOUR BLIND SPOTS - in most vehicles, are to the back right and back left of the vehicle.
- fasten your seatbelt
- child safety - properly secured in a child car seat, booster seat or seatbelt, depending on height/width/age.

How to position interior and side mirrors to decrease blind spot area?
A
- The center of the interior mirror should see the center of the rear window. You should see directly behind the car when interior mirror is properly adjusted.
- you should lean and position the outside side mirrors so that you can just see the rear of your car (on both sides left-right)

what are the regulations for child car seats, based on weight/height/age?
A
- infants < 9kg (20lbs) must be buckled into a rear-facing child car seat + seatbelt/UAS strap
- toddlers 9kg < w < 18kg must be buckled forward-facing child car seat + seatbelt/UAS strap
- if a child outgrow the forward-facing child car seat but does not meet the requirements below, they should use a booster seat (it raises the child so that the adult seatbelt works better)
- child can start wearing seatbelt if
- s/he can wear it properly
- > 8yo
- > 36kg (80 lbs)
- > 145 cm (4 feet 9 in) tall
