Q

Define the pericardium.

A

The double walled sac that encloses the heart to resist over expansion and decreases friction. Anchored to the sternum and diaphragm

Q

What are semi lunar valves?

A

Control blood flow into the arteries. Open and close with the pressure of contraction
Pulmonary between right ventricle and pulmonary trunk.
Aortic between left ventricle and aorta

Q

What is the order of blood flow through the heart.

A

Superior venae cava into the right atrium
Through the right av into right ventricle
Contraction pushes blood through the pulmonary valve tricuspid
From the lungs through pulmonary veins to left atrium
From left av valve bicuspid and into the ventricle
Contraction pushes it through the aorta and out to the body
Back through the superior venae cava

15
Q

What’s the sinus rhythm ?

A

Hear beat stimulated by the sa node 60-100 bpm

16
Q

What is nodal rhythm?

A

The heart rate set by av node if as node not working 40-50 bpm

17
Q

What’s arrhythmia?

A

Any abnormal cardiac rhythm

18
Q

What’s an atrial flutter?

A

Atria ectopic foci causing 200-400 bpm

19
Q

What is premature ventricle contractions

A

Beating off timing caused by stress or stimulants like caffeine
