When you are far away you cannot see the whites of a persons eyes
- because the americans were low on gun powder the American officers said wait until they are closer
- when the enemies are closer you have an easier shot at killing them rather than shooting from a far and missing

A
- lies across the Charles River from Boston.
- Sat next to Bunker Hill
- On the Peninsula connected to the mainland by a narrow neck: the Charlestown peninsula
-On the night of 1775 when the British soldiers were asleep, the Mass. soldiers went to Breed’s Hill and dug fortifications (a defensive wall or reinforcement built to strengthen a place from attack)
- First battle between British and Boston revolutionists
- The British have always wanted the colonists to work for them because they needed barracks.
- American’s built themselves barriers
- British were dumbfounded by their impressive work;they always thought americans were lazy
- Breed’s Hill was full of men & covered with great earthworks
- It was a great battle, America vs the British
- Was a traumatizing event
- 441 Americans killed
- 1000 British soldiers killed/wounded
