What is ‘quality’?
Quality is a term used used to indicate that products no services are of a high standard.
What are the characteristics of a good quality item?
- Well designed and finished
- Suitable for its purpose
- Durable
- Attractive
What does the guaranteed Irish symbol mean?
A product carrying this symbol has been manufactured in Ireland to a high degree of quality e.g. Flour, Sugar (Siucra)
What does the Q Mark symbol mean?
The Q Mark is awarded by EIQA to companies whose products or services have reached high standards of quality and excellence e.g. Centra
What does the Kitemark symbol mean?
The symbol of the British Standards Institution. Means the product has met high standards of quality performance and safety.
What does the Irish Standards Mark mean?
The Irish equivalent of the Kitemark. Found on electrical appliances. Awarded by the National Standards Authority of Ireland.
What does the NASI Mark mean?
An international quality standard awarded to companies with excellent quality management systems e.g.
What does the Woolmark mean?
A product with the Woolmark is made with pure new wool and not blended with any other fibre e.g. Aran Sweater
What does the Double Insulated Appliances Mark mean?
This indicates than an earthworm is not required as the wires are double insulated e.g. Hairdryers
What does the Communauté Européene Mark mean?
A safety Mark awarded by the EU e.g. Teddy Bears
