Define power
…the ability to influence somebody, and get them to do what you want them to do (regardless of whether they are willing)
What is the relationship between power and dependency
Scarcity- uniqueness… rareness
Importance - how much do i value it
Substantiality - is there anything similar?
The more dependent someone is on you the more power you have over them.
What are the three conformity studies?
Milgram study - you wont be liable study
Asch study - peer pressure study
Zimbardo study - prison study

Legitimate power- coming from position
Reward power- ability to grant reward
Coercive power- ability to take something away, punish someone
Expert power- knowledge and skills
Information power- special access to specific information
Referent power- stems fro personal characteristics of the person
