Describe the general characteristics of flavoproteins

A
  • they contain a modified vitamin B2 or riboflavin
  • nucleic acid derivatives
  • > either flavin adenine dinucleotide(FAD) or flavin mononucleotide(FMN)

-note they are located in the mitochondria and chloroplasts as electron carriers
