Wet Pipe Sprinkler System:

DRY PIPE:

A
  • contain AIR (sometimes NITROGEN) in the riser at all times
  • when sprinkler head activates, air is exhausted through open head, allowing valve to be open and water admitted through piping

-Dry systems are INSTALLED where there is DANGER OF FREEZING
