Sexuality
the dimension of masculinity, and femininity based on social, cultural, and physiological characteristics
Gender
XX female, XY male. Mother always passes X, father decides the gender. 23 chromosome is the sex chromosome
Sex chromosomes
Ambigous or inconsistant biological indicators of male or female in the sexual structures and organs
Intersexual
rewards for displaying gender appropriate behaviors or punishment for displaying inappropriate behaviors
Operant conditioning
the feeling of either being male or female, and compatibility, contentment and conformity with one’s gender
Gender identity
the psychology or mental guidelines that dictate how to be masculine or feminine.
Gender schemas
cross gender-role boundaries exhibiting behaviors from both genders
Androgyny
the beginning of sexual arousal. One minute to several hours. Blood flow increased to genitals and nipples, pulse increases
Excitement
excitement continues. A few seconds to several minutes
Plateau
shortest phase. Muscle contractions in both men and women. Semen release in males.
Orgasm
return of the body to normal state before arousal can begin again
Resolution
four stages, time intervals differ between gender
Human sexual response cycle
Person’s enduring sexutal attraction to indviduvals of the same, opposite, or both sexes. Contiunm that inculdes dimensions of sexuallity, attractions, desire, and emotional.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION
attraction to others of the opposite sex
