Intelligence:
Ability to acquire knowledge, to think and reason effectively, and adapt with the environment
Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
IQ = (Mental Age / Chronological Age) x 100. (note. only works for kids up to 16, then becomes unreliable.)
David Weschler:
Created adult and children intelligence tests that use both verbal and non-verbal abilities. Since then they have been revised to test a wider range of mental abilities.
Psychometrics:
The statistical study of psychological tests. Focuses on the number and nature of abilities that define intelligence.
Factor Analysis:
Statistical technique that permits a researcher to reduce a large number of measures to a small number factors, it identifies the groups of test scores that are highly correlated with one another.
