What is AHPA?
Allied health profession Australia:
The national peak body for major professions and representative bodies other than medical practitioners nurses and unions
What are the key attributes of allied health professions?
-The possession of coherent and disciplined set of skills, knowledge, Values and professional ethics relating to a specific health service discipline
-The capacity to provide quality healthcare
Such as direct treatment, assessment, primary health care, community care, help promotion
-A sense of professional community and environment responsibilities
-The capacity to work collaboratively with other healthcare providers
-The ability to reflect on and value which learning and to learn independently in a self-directed manner

Primary contact practitioners, they diagnose, manage, and prevent movement disorders by assisting people to develop physical abilities or regain lost functions due to illness or injury of cardio respiratory M/s and nervous system they generally focus on gross and physical motor skills and work with other AHPS in hospitals, industry, private practice and sports industries

Primary contact practitioners focuses on the clients in their environment and their role in society. They promote independence in every day activities focusing on fine motor skills, and work in physical and mental health domains working with other AHP’s, in Hospital, industry, private practice

What is progressive taxation?
-Progressive taxation means that those who earn more, pay more.
What is primary healthcare?
Healthcare that is provided outside of the hospital sector to individuals and families in their own homes or in the community
What is secondary healthcare?
Care that requires admission to hospital rather than providers in the community.
What is tertiary Health care?
Hospital care in a specialised regional Centre, e.g. specialising in cardiac surgery or cancer treatment
