Productivity
is the ratio of outputs ( goods and services) divided by the inputs ( resources, such as labor and capital)
units produced/inputs used
single factor productivity
the use of just one resources input to measure productivity
multifactor productivity
all inputs (capital, labor, material..), also known as total factor productivity
productivity increases are dependent on three productivity variables:
- Labor
- Capital
- Management
knowledge society
a society in which much of the labor force has migrated from manual work to work based on knowledge
