What is the nature of organizational change?
Organizational change involves modifications to structure, strategy, processes, or culture to adapt to internal or external factors.
What are the steps in the Lewin Model for change?
- Unfreezing: Preparing the organization for change by recognizing the need for it.
- Changing (or moving): Implementing the change.
- Refreezing: Reinforcing and stabilizing the new state after change.
Why do employees resist change?
Common reasons include fear of the unknown, lack of trust, disrupted routines, and perceived threats to job security.
How can managers overcome resistance to change?
- Communicate effectively about the need and benefits of change.
- Involve employees in the change process.
- Provide support and training.
