what is UAC?
user account control: alerts user to admin privlage needed tasks.
domain GPO?
Group Policy Object: a policy is created for a group that can be added at the server level and pushed down to all connected computers.
what is user interface accessibility?
UIA: user interface accessibility- remote assistance. when enabled in user account control they are allowed to disable secure desktop.
how to set the UAC for admin without elivating permission prompt windows?
what is the name of the tool that generates an alert when a task requires admin privileges?

what is a shim?
piece of software that can be used with a old app to make it compatable with new os so that it runs as if on an older windows os system. several shims are used at the same time, sometimes.
what is the xp mode and what OS support it?
xp mode is only suopported on windows 7 enterprise/ professional.
- allows an xp 32 bit virtual machine to run within os.
- hardware must support virtualization (cpu)
if no compatibility settings are pre-configured by the user then what will windows do automatically when an app is not compatible woth the os?
the os will launch an error to notify the user then try to start the compatiobility troubleshooter.
what tool is used to create shims?
compatibility administrator (has a collection of shims/ modes that have helped with ppls app issues in past.
before upgrading a group of computers to a new OS what tool should one use to make sure current apps are compatible?
microsoft compatibility toolkit:
-set of tools to resolve application compatibility issues with wiondows 10 the ACT collects, configures and checks for compatibility issues.
