what does the runas command do? why or how is it used?
line utility used to allow a program to run with credentials of another user account.
example: runas /user:”username”
if you have one internal HDD and 2 external usb HDDs and you want to create storage space in this system with parity could you? what would one do to make this happen?
you would need to install an additional HDD b/c one of the 3 existing HDDs has the system drive information on it and can not be used as a HDD in the Parity storage space.
what is a quota limit?
the amount of data a user is able to use or store on a HDD sector. hard and soft quotas.
what is a soft quota?
the user gets a warning when they are about to and when they do exceed a set quota storage space. the admin also is told when the user exceeds the quota.
*select the check box: log events when user exceeds quota.
what is a hard quota?
users can not exceed the quota of HDD space.
how does one set an exception to the quota for a user?
quota tab of the properties of the HDD and look for > Quota entries button. by default the admin has an exception.
how to free up disk space and remove all restore points except the most recent?
run disk cleanup then select More Options- to remove old restore points. or… run cleanmgr as an admin then more options.
what does the chdsk C: /r command do?
chekcs the C disk by scanning it and the /r repairs bad sectors.
what are the steps to deny access to a usb drive to write, read, etc. policy?
command prompt/ powershell (admin) > #gpedit.msc >
>computer config > admin templates> system> removable storage access.
MTBF?
MTBF Mean Time Before Failure: how many hours can the disk be used before it fails?
AFR?
AFR Annualized Failure Rate: number of disk failures each year based on the manufacturer amount made.
