1 or more symptoms affect VOLUNTARY MOTOR or SENSORY function
Conversion Disorder
1 or more somatic symptom are distressing or with significant disruption of daily life

- Disproportionate and persistent thoughts about sympto3
- Persistent high level of anxiety
- Excessive time and energy spent on symptoms
Somatic Symptom disorder
A. Presence of medical symptom B. Psychological factors affect medical condition - influence course of the condition - interfere with treatment - constitute additional health risk - influence underlying pathophysiology

Falsification of physical or psychological signs or symptoms, or induction of injury or disease
Factitious disorder
Individual presents him/herself to others as ill

False belief of being pregnant
Pseudocyesis
NORMAL somatic sensations as “Intense, Noxious, Disturbing”
Somatosensory amplification
A form of psychological defense against intrapsychic distress that allows child to avoid confronting conflicts or anxieties

Results in being allowed to avoid unwanted responsibilities
