Channel Paths & Organs Entered Flashcards
What is the general rule for the pathway of Luo Connecting Channels?
· break off regular channel at the Luo connecting pt, which is located below elbow or knee where blood shows
· generally travel parallel to regular channel
· generally don’t go into Zang Fu (except SP Luo which goes into intestines, HT, ST)
What is the general rule for the pathway of Sinew Channels?
· start at Jing Well, knot at joints, and go inward toward trunk or head
· don’t have their own points bc they’re just outer layers of the 12 Regular Channels
What is the general rule for the pathway of Divergent Channels?
· branch off regular channel from above elbow/knee
· go into the Zang Fu
· from the Zang Fu, the Yin & Yang Divergents come together, join with the Yang regular channel, and re-emerge at the face at “windows of the sky” points
· start out as 12, but the Yin & Yang join, so they become 6 eventually
(connects yin to yang, and the two combined to yang)
The Lung Regular Channel enters what organs?

The Stomach Divergent Channel enters which organs? How is it an exception to the general rule for Divergents?

Do Divergent Channels go into the Zang Fu?
Yes
Do Luo Connecting Channels go into the Zang Fu?
No - except for the SP Luo, which goes to the Heart, Stomach, Spleen, and Intestines
Where does the Spleen Luo Connecting Channel run? How is it an exception to the general rule for Luo’s?
