ADAPTIVE BEHAVIOR
the ability meet social and community expectations for personal independence, physical needs, and interpersonal relationships expected for one’s age and cultural group
ANTECEDENT
( things that happen just before the behavior occurred that may cause the behavior) as well as consequences (things that happened immediately after the behavior occurred that may reinforce the behavior)
ATTITUDES
Children without disabilities do not automatically include children who are disabled in their social play activities, including the social play of physical education recreation, and sport activities
BEHAVIOR
social play ( playing with or around others) allows children to learn from peers; to take turns and cooperate with peers; and to learn different, appropriate ways to play with toys and peers. Learning to play appropriately also prevents children with disabilities from being socially rejected and avoided by their peers without disabilities.
CONSEQUENCES
looking at how children react to certain instance and what they do to get attention to be punished.
FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS
way to asses behaviors of children with disabilities, to determine what might be causing behaviors
MALADAPTIVE BEHAVIOR
is behavior that is undesirable, that is socially unacceptable, or that interfers with the acquisition of desired skills of knowledge
PERCEIVED COMPETENCE
refer to how competent one feels in particular activities or pursuits. Typical domains associated with perceived competence include school, sports work, close friendships, social acceptance, romantic appeal, physical appearance, and behavioral content
PLAY BEHAVIOR
Having a disability and being able to interact with general ed and have them accept you making it a functional environment
POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT
support approach to working with child with behavioral problems. Advantage to simply doing nothing the childs adaptive behaviors and behavior problems is it gives an idea of why the child is displaying the inappropriate behaviors
SELF-CONCEPT
GENERAL REGARD TOWARDS ONES SELF.
SELF-ESTEEM
a general positive self-regard, self worth, or overall good feeling about oneself
SOCIAL COMPETENCE
how much a student really knows about their own self and how confident they feel in them selves in activites, assurance
