Ch 6 Permanent Max LI Flashcards
1
Q
Labial:
- crown
- mesial
- distal
- mesiodistally
- roots
A
more curvature, rounded incisal ridge, rounded incisal angles, mesial/distal
- smaller in all dimensions, more convex than CI, 2 to 3mm shorter
- resembles CI, more rounded mesioincisal angle. Crest of contour is at junction of middle and incisal thirds.
- more rounded, crest more cervical. @ center of middle third, more convex labially (semicircular outline exhibited by some forms)
- 2mm more narrow than CI
- longer root (5x lenghth of crown) greater in proportion to crown lenghth than centrals. curves sharply distally. (tapers evenly from cervical line to approx. 2/3s of its length apically.
2
Q
Lingual
A
- cingulum prominent
- lingual pit
- fossa more concaved, circubscribed
- tooth tapers toward lingual
- mesial/distal marginal ridges are marked
3
Q
Mesial
A
- root appears longer
- crown is shorter, labioling ofcrownand root is 1mm less than max CI
- cervical line curvature towards incisal ridge, less extent than CI bcoz of small crown
- incisal ridge appears thicker than CI
- root appears tapered w/a blunt, round apical
- labial outline is straight
4
Q
Distal
A
- width of crown appears thicker than mesial becoz of placemnt of crown on root
- curvature of cervical is mm orso less in depththan mesial
- dev’t grooves common
5
Q
Incisal
A
- resemble CI or canine (if it conforms in dev’t to its CI neighbor, it will from incisal aspect, resembleCI,except in size, however cingulum may be large.
- large cingulum
- labioling dimension may be greater than usual in comparison w/ mesiodistal dimension, if present, may resemble small canine
- convexity labially and lingually
