Ch 6 Permanent Max CI Flashcards
1
Q
Labial:
- crown height
- mesial-distal
- mesial outline
- distal outline
- incisal
- cervical
- root
A
- 10mm to 11mm long
- 8 to 9 mm wide (@root its -1.5 to 2mm less)
- slightly convex
- more convex
- curves down toward crown center
- semicircular direction w/ curvature rootwise
- cone-shaped, 2or 3mm longer than crown
2
Q
Lingual
A
- has convexities and a concavity-shallow
- below cervical line is smooth convexity-cingulum (moderately pronounced)
- moderate confluent marginal ridges
- moderately deep fossa
- crown and root taper lingually
- linguoincisal edge is raised
- lingual portion of root is narrower than labial
3
Q
Mesial:
- crown
- incisal ridge
- Labial
- Lingual
- cervical line
- root
A
- web-shaped or triangular:
- base-cervix, apex-incisal ridge
- has greatest labiolingual measurement (0.5mm)
- is on line w/ center of root
- slightly convex
- convex to cingulum, then concave(@mesial marginal) then slightly convex again @ linguo-incisal ridge & incisal ridge
- curves incisally to a noticeable degree, 3-4mm
- cone-shaped, bluntly rounded
4
Q
Distal
A
- illusion of greater thickness becozof slope on labial aspect
- little difference bet distal/mesial outlines
- cervical line curvature is less extent
5
Q
Incisal-triangular
- Labial
- cervical portion
- incisal ridge
- lingual
- mesio-distal
- cervical
- crown
A
- broad and flat
- convex
- clear with differentiation from incisal edge
- tapers toward cingulum
- calibration of crown @ labial line angles greater than the same calibrat the lingual line angles
- mesiolabial and distolabial line angles are prominent from incisal aspect
- cingulum of crown makes up cervical portion of lingual surface
- shows more bulk, labioling more than 2/3s as great as mesiodist calib
6
Q
General Info
A
- widest mesiodistally > ant teeth
- punch and cut food during mastication
- only teeth with mesial to mesial contact
- mesial outline: slight convex, squared/rect appearance
- distal outline: more convex, crest of curvature higher towards cervical
- 3 pulphorns, 4 lobes
- straight incisal edge, even curvature of cervical line to root, mesial incisal angle sharp, distal incisal round
- incisal outline: regular/straight after wear tends to curve downwards towards center of crown outline
- cervical outline: semi-circular direction, curvature toward root.
- 2 forms:
- wide at cervix-labially
- narrow at cervix
- crown sizes are gender dimorphic, but bet enamel thickness and crown width of dentin low.
