collaboration
a group of people working together to achieve a common goal via a process of feedback and iteration
operational decisions

Managerial decisions
decisions about the allocations and utilization of resources: how much should we budget for computer hardware and programs for department A next year?
Strategic decisions
support broad-scope, organizational issues. Typical decisions at the strategic level are: should we start a new product line?
Structured decision
process is one from which there is an understood and accepted method for decision making
unstructured decision
no agreed upon decision making method
neither standardized nor broadly accepted,
unstructured decisions are often collaborative

is data that is part of the collaborations work product

Synchronous communication
all team members meet at the same time, such as with conference calls or face to face meeting.
Asynchronous communication
team members do not meet at the same time. Employees who work in difference shifts at the same location, or team members who work in different time zones around the world
virtual meetings
participants do not meet in the same place, and possibly not at the same time.
Screen sharing applications
enables users to view the same whiteboard, application, or other display
webinar
is a virtual meeting in which attendees view one of the attendees computer screens for a more formal and organized presentation
videoconferencing
is more intrusive than text chat; you have to comb your hair, but it does have a more personal touch.
