Blind Intubation
A
- Rarely done now due to RSI and Video laryngoscopes
- Use if intubation needed & RSI not possible and difficult airway w/o ability for awake intubation.

Blind Nasotracheal Intubation
A
- PreOxygenate
- Explain
- Right preferred if equal size
- Vascoconstrict oxymetolazone or phenylephrine
- 2% lidocaine on nasal airway. Dilate up if time.
- Posterior oropharynx w 4% lidocaine
- 6 to 7.0 for nose.
- Capnography
- Leading edge lateral and follow the floor of the nose, under the inferior turbinate.
- Rotate clockwise if resistence at nasopharynx to avoid perforation.
- Look for square capnograph.
- Advance during inspiration w cricoid pressure
- Should be 3cm deeper than oral ETT.
