What are the applications of RULA and REBA

A
  1. Provide a method of screening a working population quickly, for exposure to a likely risk of work-related upper limb disorders
  2. Identify the muscular effort that is associated with working posture, exerting force, and performing static or repetitive work, and which may contribute to muscle fatigue
  3. Give results that could be incorporated in a wider ergonomics assessment covering physical, mental, environmental, and organizational factors

Steps to use RULA or REBA

A

Step 1. Observation - observe the operator during several work cycles to select the tasks and postures for assessment

Step 2. Choose Posture -Select the posture held for greatest amount of time or where highest loads occur or both

Step 3. Choose side - determine if one or both sides are under load
