Emotion
A state of arousal involving facial and bodily changes, cognitive appraisals, subjective feelings, and tendencies or actions

What are the functions of facial expressions?
- Fosters communication and signals intentions to others
- Enhance infant survival: Infants look to parents to guide their behavior

Facial Feedback Study

- They were then asked to rate how funny cartoons were
- The teeth participants found the cartoons more amusing than the lips participants
