facet joint

-Cx=sloped
-Tx=vertical
-Lx=curved

-C1 = atlas, ringed shaped with no spinous processes
-C2 = axis has bifid spinous process and bony prominence called the odontoid process
-Atlantoaxial joint
costocorporeal and costotransverse joints
-costocorporeal= between head of the ribs and the costal facets on thoracic vertebral bodies
-costotransverse= between articular facet on tubercle of the rib and transverse process
-dont exist for 11th and 12th ribs

-ligamenta flava ( connect adjacent vertebrae)
-supraspinous ligament and ligamentum nuchae (connects spinous processes from 7th cervical vertebra to 3rd and 4th lumbar vertebrae
