Cells Flashcards
What are Cells composed of?
1.plasma membrane
2.cytoplasm
3.nucleus
What is the plasma membrane?
The plasma membrane is the outer boundary of the cell
What is the nucleus?
Located at the Center of the cells stores DNA.
Cytoplasm
It is the region in the Cell between plasma membrane and nucleus
Cytosol
Fluid region of cell
Cytoskeleton
Proteins which help cell to maintain its structure.
Cell organelles
Specialized parts of cell that carry out special functions
Endoplasmic reticulum
Rough ER: has ribosomes on its surface; it produces proteins and packages them in vesicles
Smooth: has no ribosomes synthesizes lipids and detoxifies cellular chemicals
Golgi apparatus
They receive modify, sort and send out proteins in a vesicle
Lysosome
Contains enzymes that can destroy organic compounds
Mitochondria
Generate ATP
Centrioles
Micro tubules are produced
4 phases?
Prophase
Metaphase
Anaphase
Telophase
