Cell Organisation B2 Flashcards
What is an organelle?
An organelle is a sub-cellular structure, it’s the parts that make up a cell. Each organelle has a specific role and when combined make a cell.
What is a cell?
A cell is a different number and combination of organelles. The different types of cells are called specialised cells, e.g. epithelial, muscle and glandular cells.
What are tissues?

What is an organ?
An organ is a group of different tissues that work together to perform a particular function.
What is an organ system?
An organ system is a group of organs that work together to carry out a certain function.
