The process when a cell changes to become specialised for its job

It is specialised for rapid signalling. It carries electrical signals from one part of the body to another

It is specialised for contraction. to contract quickly
What is the function of root hair cells and what is it specialised for
It is specialised for absorbing water and minerals. There are cells on surface of plant roots which grow into long hairs that stick out into the soil
What is the function of phloem and xylem cells and what is it specialised for
It is specialised for transporting substances. They form tubes which transport substances such as food and water around plants.
