CC Cash Injection Flashcards

Q

Exploit 1 example 1: When someone range bets the flop?

e.g. on low innocuous board?

A

Raise thinly for value, raise more middling/mergey hands for a mix of value and denial of equity.

Not just backdoor backdoor hands, but top pairs, gutshots. Since the people don’t 3bet your raise enough. 3x instead of 4-5x can be insanely profitable.

e.g. 732r (no diamonds), someone range bets flop. Raise a lot.

Always after looking at raises, look at villains solver reaction against 4-5x. They are supposed to defend way a lot and definitely don’t defend hands like 96s. Gets even better w/ 3x instead.

Even diamond hands are supposed to defend a lot but won’t be. We will want to raise when we don’t have diamonds a lot and unblock their folds. Solver even 3bets T8. Pool is super underdefending.

After nodelockinga more realistic response to the 3x, (less 3b, calling AK, getting rid of ridiculous 3bets.) Way higher EV to raise than call.

LOW DRY INNOCUOUS BOARD, RAISE INSTEAD OF CALL.

e.g. even against UTG as BB on Ac7d3s w/ Kc4c. Don’t have to use 5-6x. Raise even second pair a lot etc. Their defense w/ pocket pairs will be atrocious as they’re supposed to call them all! They fold backdoor broadways, all the JTs like hands too. small nodelock of even a conservative response where they only fold the pocket pairs a small frequency, now the Kc4c is now clearly winning and small 3x raises turn most calls into raises. Even backdoor 86s w/ backdoor is profitable raise. But now against your strong and vulnerable value hands are better calls and it is detrimental to raise them. Even against non-range bets this is still good though not as great as against range-bets.

Exploit 2: Attack BXB line as PFC BB

A

E.g.
CO vs hero(BB) w/ A9hh.
2hJdJd- X, B33, C
3d- X-X
Ad- X-B50- ?
scattered aggression, most unbalanced line. MDA shows overbluffed.
Think of landing range, they’ve only did a merge bet on flop, so their range is drowning in bad combos/ they are unfiltered. They should’ve checked back some good strong hands to not be unbalanced here but most people default to betting them. They are skewed towards air.

w/ B50 they should be bluffing only 25% (3:1 value to bluff ratio) so they should be skewed towards value w/ this sizing. W/ their merged range they don’t end up w/ a balanced bluffing range. So we CALL. They have Q9cc, which they should’ve barreled on the turn then give up if they want to remain balanced. Q9 should’ve blasted about 50% of time, which shows they are underbluffing bad shit on turn and end up w/ too much air later. They are meant to check a lot of diamond hands, and check back a lot of flushes. Not just on four flush boards. This spot we only need 24% equity to be profitable, and we will call all our bluffcathers. MOST PEOPLE OVERBLUFF SO CALL AGAINST BXB.

Exploit 2 Example 2: Bluffcatch BXB line as PFC BB

A

CO vs hero(BB) w/ A5hh.
4hJhTd- X,B50, C
Ts- X-X
Jd- X-B66- ?

MDA shows that anything between B33-80 they are grossly overbluffing. even B100 is overbluffed, they aren’t checking strong value hands on turn so they don’t have hands strong enough for B100. They should’ve bet their Jx and Tx on turn and when they don’t they have air. This hand they had 5c6h.

Especially against maniacs this is great! They are even looser and overbluffing even MORE in BXB lines. We win about 80-90% of the time.

In solver, they range bet flop, turn they are supposed to bluff a lot on turn. They are even supposed to bluff A2 a lot on turn. By the river, they are supposed to just check with a lot of hands like Kx but they blast away with it in BXB line and grab to far up into the SDV hands to bluff. We should call Kx more here.

Qs- X-B66- ?

CALL!
Usually Q favors the aggressor as defender would fold overcards more. But this Q makes gutshots get there. They don’t find low EV bluffs on turn still, and they don’t slowplay w/ good hands enough. They have AcJd when we call.

In solver, the flop they are not supposed to be rangebetting. They were supposed to overbet with a lot of their overpairs etc on turn. Call a lot against this line. EVERYONE OVERBLUFFS ON RIVER. Against B66, only supposed to win 30% of time, you win here about 50% so massively profitable.

Exploit 3 Example 1: Bluffing in 3bet pots (TRIPLE BARREL!!!)

A

BU vs hero(SB) w/ AhTs
BU 2bb, SB 3B 10bb, C
5dTc4c- B60, C
Kh- B33-X
Td- J

Kh turn would simplify turn to rangebetting small, even though you normally can’t rangebet turn after rangebetting flop in 3BP but turn is so good for you as 3BP aggressor you should blast away on a rangebet. Spot gets overfolded since they arrive here too thin against 2 rangebets in 3bp, but this is maybe least overfolded so other textures will be even more overfolded against this line. When we switch to blanker/harder to hit runouts, e.g. complete brick runouts, it will be difficult for opponent to defend optimally on.

ALL players, fish/regs, overfold in 3bet pots immensely.

Solver shows that they are supposed to call even 88 or AQ sometimes, or A5 all the time? Kx usually calls us by real people, but those aforementioned hands don’t really get called. We generate way more fold equity than we’re meant to. Even busted open ender like QJs jams and doesn’t care about blocking folds. Even A7cc is only slightly losing w/ -2%pot EV as a bet, but when nodelocked, it becomes great.

Do the small nodelock of folding some amount of time with the hands they would prob fold more but have to call if GTO, now A7cc is getting +12%pot EV as bet. All hands that were betting earlier make even more EV too! This happens even more on blanker/drier runouts!!

What if river was instead of 4h? Again, 77 should call, 88 should call, most Tx calls. Very overfolded world!

What if river was 7c to complete flush? 99, 88, (with clubs) should call. Even flush river is overfolded.

BU vs hero(SB) w/ AhTs
BU 2bb, SB 3B 10bb, C
5dTc4c- B60, C
9s- B60-X
2h- J

solver gets cagey w/ jam range on river when villain hits MDF and meant to fold 33% of time. They should call w/ all pocket pairs! KQcc is a breakeven call. AQo is meant to always call.

Even just adding like 25% folds into the pocket pairs etc. as a nodelock shows that. Now KJo is winning 10% of pot, busted flush draws are now winning like A8cc (OE & busted FD)

Exploit 4 Example 1: Bluffcatching unfiltered ranges.

A

Hero HJ (AdQc) 2.25bb and BB calls
9d4h8c- (B75 or X, choose X) X-X
2c- B50-C
5h- B50- ?

CALL!

we’ve intentionally left their range wide and weak. BB has a lot of weak hands like weak suited aces, KJ, etc. When they turn probe bet and we call, MDA shows that we often win on river either by calling another bet bluffcatching or by villain giving up checking and checking back to see showdown. We only need 25% to call this river and they have wayyyy too much air. This example, villain went with it for KdQd. Population overbluffs with this unfiltered range.

in solver, don’t look at frequency view look at EV view!! AQo is folding in GTO but the EV view shows it is barely losing at all and is effectively breakeven. Looking at what villain is supposed to bet on river, they are probably not even value betting all the hands like 9x that are mandatory bets! So they overbluff and don’t value bet thinly enough. Bluffcatch them for this!

Exploit 4 Example 2: Bluffcatching unfiltered ranges, extremely crazy example4

A

Hero CO (As5h) 2.25bb and BB calls
QhThTc- (normally would rangebet b33, but here X) X-X
3h- B66-C
4d- B66-?

This time, we don’t have a bluffcatcher! But we still call. Are we right? It is overbluffed when all gutters mix is the theory. Checking solver, it is huge 23%pot loss in EV to call. Why did we do it? They are supposed to give up a lot of gutters and OESDs. Let’s see the nodelock when we increase the betting frequency of KJ, K9, J9, J8. Call for As5h is now 10% of pot! START MAKING AMBITIOUS CALLS AGAINST UNFILTERED RANGES!

A

SB limp, Hero (BB) raise to 4bb, C.
9h4d2h- X-X
3c- B50-C
2c- B120-?

even though this size can be underbluffed by better players, they got here by starting out with limp.

sure they filter a little bit by calling but not much. expect to bluffcatch here on turn! they could be bluffing any number of bad hands that are still in their range for any reason they might come up with in their head. Villain had KcTc here and they were supposed to check turn.

Don’t be afraid to call low absolute hand strength holdings against unfiltered ranges, particularly when bet is smaller or normal sized and when not many things get there, and especially against weaker players.

have fun never folding rivers against these unfiltered ranges!

Exploit 5 Example 1: Mastering Positional Exploits, wider ranges are more likely to bluff!

A

WIDER RANGES ARE MORE LIKELY TO OVERBLUFF!

SB vs BB:
Biggest factor according to MDA is wideness of starting range for overbluffing even in triple barrel spots!

SB vs BB (hero w/ 6h5c),
SB 3bb, BB C
3dKd5s- B16 (? lol), C
Ks- B75,C
4c- B80,C

SB has so much unpaired air so call. This is backed up by MDA across almost every board texture! But people fold this spot instead of calling all the time, don’t be one of these peeps! Boost the red line!

Let’s check solver. Villain rangebets flop, B75 turn, what are they supposed to follow through with on river? Villain supposed to follow through stuff as weak as 66-99, and they should give up with QT,Q9,Q8, busted flush draws. So again they are bluffing too much, and not value betting thinly enough. In reality they have way more combos of trash than the solver gets there with too since their turn barrel is too crazy!

Here villain was betting Qc7c.

Exploit 5 Example 2: Mastering Positional Exploits, wider ranges are more likely to bluff!

A

SB vs BB (hero w/ 47ss)

As4dAh (6bb)- B33,C
Jh- B33,C
9c- B66,C

turn there are gutshots available etc. and K-high. Late position with a lot of busted draws. 29% pot odds, which means they have close to 2 value bets for every bluff. so much offsuit combo trash! they had QcTs. these late positions have a lot of offsuit shitty crap.

solver on turn doing B33 after flop range bet is supposed to check a lot of higher SDV hands like Kx, QT, but people easily overdo it and bet these hands. So they are hard pressed to find enough value to fit into B33 on turn, so they arrive with a lot of bluffs on river! 9c river. CALL! MDA agrees.

A

HJ vs BB (hero w/ Q5ss)

7sThQd (5.5bb)- B33, C
4s- B130, C
9c- B75, F

sidenote:when a 3straight is on board, or two broadways like this, it’s harder for villain to be bluffing. not a lot of natural bluffs outside of like AJ etc

Main note- tighter configuration makes it harder for villain to have bluffs. in GTO overbet then smaller bet is normally underbluffed since they normally overbet their bluffs.

solver says on turn villain should be overbetting, but they should even be finding crappier bluffs like Kxs on turn since their range is so tight. so it’s harder for villain to arrive on river with air!

OVERFOLD AGAINST EARLIER POSITION TRIPLE BARRELS!
CALL MORE AGAINST LATER POSITION TRIPLE BARRELS!

(against way better competition this does not super apply, but most opponents at lower/middle stakes will fall in this MDA dataset)

Exploit 6 Example 1: Annihilating turn probes.

A

Opponents turn probe too wide and unselectively, how to exploit?

BU vs BB (2 recreationals in blinds so open 8s9c)
KT2sss- can B or X GTO but here we X to elicit probe. X-X
Th- B50, R5x (cbet is 2.6bb and raise is 12.2bb)

GTO range for B50 turn probe is polarized centering around flushes & TX for value, then bluffs like straight draws, flush draws etc. In reality, more single As hands than there should be, lot of offsuit hands, KJo, J9o. Single spade hand is too available, AJ, etc. Random array of hands in their range. After raising we’re ready to blast river.

Solver is super reserved as SB, but player is not! Checking back is supposed to be protected as SB, but SB will not. They make polarization error by betting middle of range when they’re supposed to be polar. Suited Kx shouldn’t bet, pocket pairs shouldn’t. People like to bet when checked to though! Don’t be a N00b like that. Exploit people who do this instead!

BU hero (JTss) vs BB

8d- B33, R5x

neutral world here! we should check a lot on flop in GTO. simplify.
villain meant to lead on most turn textures.
on this turn though, flush is not as good for BB as on other textures where flush let’s BU catch up against their BBs more common pairs and sets. Villain should be cautious on this probe as a result. So we should raise a lot as a result.

People think this spot is very good for them! IT’S NOT! Don’t just let them get away with this probe on bad card for them.

Solver says BB is at disadvantage on the turn. Villain misconstructs their leading range as it’s a big error to lead hands like QJ with no diamond. The mergey hands they include on this lead should get punished, no they just don’t get to bet for denial it is a mistake to do so. FACING TURN PROBE IS VERY LUCRATIVE! People lose control too easily.

On turn their meant to be betting large a lot, so they’re way to merged. J5 just meant to call. Now they arrive at river with a mega capped merged range, so we can not only bluff more, but we can also get (somewhat paradoxically) thinner value more when we face a river block bet like this.

HJ (hero w/ KJss) vs CO call (hint CO is a rec)

2h5s8d (6bb)- X,B60,R3.6x,C
7h- X,X
Jc- B66,F

When opponent’s get checked to as PFC they get a little too comfy as most players have a weak checking range OOP as PFR (like SB vs BB, or 3BP SB vs BU). When OOP PFR checks they don’t get to fold as much as someone who had preflop disadvantage like SB vs BB. PEOPLE STAB TOO MUCH! OVERPROTECT YOUR CHECKING RANGE!

In this hand’s flop, a lot of people will say 2overcards, backdoor draws, don’t have much SDV, I have a lot of fold equity, gonna rep an overpair, etc. Don’t just get into habit of betting! Solver will tell you to check everything here on low boards that don’t contain a K, J or multiple broadways are typically going to be bet by IP PFC, so OOP PFR should act like BB would in SB vs BB SRP on this disadvantageous board.

7h after raise is not great for us, so check.

Solver used and nodelocked our range check, in reality range check could be stronger than this, here villain is meant to float bet some with their simulated recreational range. They should not be float betting a bunch. Solver gives villain credit for being restrained where they should not have bet KJo, KTo, etc., but they can just have oh they checked so i bet mentality. Checkraising now becomes amazing. Turn we should’ve checked according to solver, river we should’ve jammed. In reality

want to be range checking on board like this on this node! better flop for them. let them stab. On river, we would call anyways but especially with 9 not gonna be folding. B50 means you only need to win 25% of the time! Villain arrived with K9hh. Might still call on brick river as you unblock the bluffs in GTO, in practice winning against a lot of air and we only need to win 25% of time!

20
Q

Exploit 7 Example 5: Inducing and exploiting flop float bets!

A

SB (hero w/ 65hh) vs BB

3s3d5c (6bb)- X,B75
7c- X,B100
Jc- X,X

BB has way more 3x so neutralized preflop advantage. Check flop as villain is used to fold equity in this spot being higher, but don’t let them exploit you like they do the bad players. Their bet would profit against most people, so strengthen your checking range and don’t let them!
On turn, in GTO prob good call, in practice even better. River is iffy though and villain dependent, but still in practice may be closer to call. Villain ends up w/ 44 here!

OVERPROTECT CHECKING RANGE
LET PEOPLE STAB TOO WIDE THEN:
ATTACK WHEN NO SDV
CALL DOWN WITH SDV

“basically check overprotected range, bet an underprotected range, and take advantage of this overzealous stabbing epidemic”

21
Q

Exploit 8: River Block Bet when villain has a lot of seemingly weak hands that should bluff catch

A

River Block Bet when villain has a lot of seemingly weak hands that should bluff catch (best example is after facing BX, block bet is great on river probe opportunity)

Bonus is that when they arrive with too much air, villain may overbluff raise you where the odds to call a raise after block betting is low (e.g. getting raised 5x after B33 is only 30% odds to call and villain is probably bluffing more than 30% of the time!) so value hands can call down pretty light.

22
Q

Exploit 9: Clickback Flop Cbets in 3bet pots

A

For denial since villains do not 3bet enough, and they fold too much.

Bonus is to get info for where your hand is at! like when JJ gets 3bet jammed over you’re normally beat!

Villains play much better against calls anyways.

If EV of thin value raising, denial raising, and bluff raising goes up in value in position in a 3bet pot in reality, surely value of raising the nuts must go down! Don’t just always raise NUTS like set since our clickback was so good in the other cases.

23
Q

Exploit 10: Learn to fold in underbluffed spots!

A

When villain’s range is filtered into naturally stronger state.
