Q

What was the trigger of WW1?

A

The assassination of the heir to the Austria-Hungarian empire, Archduke Franz Ferdinand. He was assassinated on an official visit to Sarajevo, in Bosnia. Austria-Hungary believed that the Serbians had organised the killings. Serbia asked for an international conference to resolve the matters, but Austria-Hungary refused, declaring war on July 28, 1914.
