Catecholamines Flashcards
Norepinephrine
Agonist Hypotension, Mucosal Congestion, Local Anesthesia, Vasoconstrictor, Stimulate Alpha receptors (Salivary water secretions, Liver K+ release, Platelet Aggregation, Decrease Insulin,)
Epinephrine
Agonist Cardiac Arrest, Anaphalaxis, Hypotension, Mucosal Congestion, Local Anesthesia, Short term for Glaucoma - can decrease IOP longterm.
Isoproteranol
Agonist Chrono, Ino, Lusi, Dorutropic. Stimulate Beta (Heart stuff, Bronchia and Vasodilation, Increased renin release, glycogenolysis, gluconeogensis, K+ uptake by muscles, tremors, mast cell stability.)
Dobutamine /Dopamine
Agonist Acute heart failure/shock, can maintain renal perfussion and decrease Na reabsorption. Use DO to preferentially highlight ischemic tissue
